    Cheesy Pull Apart Bread

    Ingredients for Cheesy Pull Apart Bread.
    Just a few simple ingredients makes this delicious pull apart bread!

    Cut almost to the bottom, but not all the way through the bread.

    🥘 Ingredients

    Round loaf of sourdough bread: I feel sourdough bread is the best bread but you can an Italian loaf of bread.

    Salted butter

    Fresh garlic cloves

    Whole peppercorn: this will be crushed with mortar and pestle, but you can also use a pepper mill if you have one

    Salt, use only if needed to taste.

    Parsley

    Mozzarella cheese: use pre-shredded part skim mozzarella cheese for the best results.

    Fresh ground black pepper
    Fresh ground black pepper adds something special to the butter mixture, you can use ground black pepper instead if you can't crush your own peppercorns.

    Season the butter for a delicious flavor combination.
    Scored loaf of bread with butter seasoning spread.
    Use a pastry brush to get the seasoned melted butter in all the cracks of the bread.
    Scored and seasoned bread stuffed with shredded cheese.
    Stuff the cheese into each scored section of bread for the best results.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Line a dutch oven or large cast iron skillet with parchment paper and set aside.
    3. Using a bread knife, cut loaf in 1” slices, but not all the way through.
    4. Turn the loaf 90° and cut slice through the loaf in the opposite direction to previous slices and repeat slicing. You will end up with pluckable cubes of bread.
    5. Add freshly cracked pepper, parsley, salt, garlic and butter to a small bowl. Melt butter mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds, then combine butter with seasonings.
    6. Using a silicone pastry brush, coat the loaf with the melted butter mixture on the inside and outside of the loaf.
    7. Stuff the shredded cheese into all the cut sections of the bread.
    8. Place loaf in prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes, until cheese is melted and loaf is toasty and golden brown.
    9. Cool slightly before serving.

    Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days.

    📖 Variations

    • Substitute the mozzarella cheese with cheddar cheese, monterey jack cheese, or any semi soft cheese that will give you the cheese pulls!
    • Substitute 1 teaspoon garlic powder for the garlic cloves.
    • Cut the bread into diamond shapes instead of cubes for a fancier look!

    • If the top of the loaf is browning too quickly, cover with a sheet of aluminum foil to prevent over browning.
