🥘 Ingredients
Fresh apricots, fresh apricots are sweet, golden in color, and give slightly when lightly squeezed.
Lemon juice helps to preserve the apricots
Granulated sugar (optional), for added sweetness.
🔪 Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the water, lemon juice, and sugar (if using). Stir until sugar has dissolved.
- Cut each apricot in half and remove the pits and place apricot halves in the lemon water. Soak for 10 minutes.
- Remove the apricots from the lemon water and lay flat on a paper towel lined baking sheet, skin side down.
- Using a paper towel, pat the apricots dry then press down the halves with the palm of your hand until they are flat.
- Arrange the apricot halves on dehydrator trays in a single layer allowing air flow to circulate around the apricots.
- Dry apricots at 135 degrees for 24 hours.

- Use orange juice in place of lime just for the apricot soak.
💭 Tips
- Purchase ripe apricots that are ripe or slightly underripe. There should be golden yellow with no green or brown spots and they should give slightly when lightly squeezed.
