    ❤️ Why you'll love it

Less mess: The air fryer is the best way to cook sausage with less mess. Any grease spatters are in a contained area, meaning less greasy clean up

Juicy sausages and crispy skin: the hot air seals in the juices

Healthier option: any excess grease that releases from the sausage collects in the drip pan, meaning less fat in the food on your plate.

    🥘 Ingredients

Different kinds of sausages you can cook in the air fryer:

    • Frozen or raw sausage patties (usually beef, chicken, or pork sausages)
    • Chicken sausage links: these are usually precooked and in the refrigerated section of the grocery store.
    • Breakfast link sausages: you can buy frozen links or raw sausage links in the meat department
    • Kielbasa and Polish sausage: Usually found in the refrigerated section where processed meats are kept.

There are several different types of sausages out there, and all of them can be made in the air fryer!

    🔪 Instructions

Raw sausages (such as Italian sausage)

    1. Preheat air fryer at 400°f
    2. Remove uncooked sausage from the refrigerator and place sausage links air fryer basket or air fryer tray in a single layer.
    3. Air fry sausage links for 10 minutes, until the links are a nice dark brown.
    4. Remove sausage links from the air fryer and let rest on a paper towel lined plate until swelling has subsided.

    For pre-smoked or pre-cooked sausages.

    1. Preheat air fryer to 400°f
    2. Remove pre-cooked sausage from fridge and immediately place the pre-cooked/smoked sausages in the air fryer basket.
    3. Cook for 5 minutes or until sausages are swollen and skin is firm.
    4. Remove sausage links from the air fryer and let rest on a paper towel lined plate until swelling has subsided.

Don't overcrowd the air fryer, be sure there is space between each sausage link to allow air circulation.

    🥄 Equipment

    Air fryer

    Tongs

    🥫Storage

Store cooked sausages in an airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 5 minutes at 350 degrees.

    💭 Tips

    • Cook time may change depending on the size of the sausages. Thicker sausages will take longer to cook. To ensure meat is safe to eat, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer in the center of the sausage. Temp should should be 160 degrees f.
    • If using frozen sausage links, you may need a few extra minutes in the air fryer. I recommend extending the cooking time by 2-3 minutes, or until internal temp is 160 degrees F.
    • Use the nutrition information on the packaging of the sausage you are cooking if keeping track of it.
    • If sausages are splitting during cooking, reduce the heat to 350 and cook for a longer period of time.

    🙋 FAQ's

Why did my sausage split when cooking?

Sausages will split during cooking if the heat is too hot for an extended period of time. The juices build up and get hot inside the sausage causing the skin to burst.

    🍽 Serve with...

If serving breakfast sausage, serve with a side of eggs, hash browns, pancakes and maple syrup.

If serving italian sausages (regular or hot) serve in a bun with sauteed peppers and onions.

Kielbasa or polish sausage can be served with sauteed cabbage.
