Tips And Substitutions
- Depending on heat tolerance, feel free to increase or decrease the amount of chipotle peppers in the recipe.
- Scoop 1/2 tablespoon of adobo sauce from the chipotle peppers and include it in the recipe.
- Substitute 1 teaspoon of chipotle chili powder for the chipotle peppers (adjust the amount of powder according to heat tolerance.
- Substitute jellied cranberry sauce for the whole berry.

Cranberry Chipotle Sauce
Smoky, sweet heat made with leftover cranberry sauce, a delicious condiment with a tex-mex flair.
- 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
- [1/3 cup taco sauce ]
- 3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt optional
Whisk all cranberry sauce, taco sauce, chipotle pepper, chili powder, and cumin together. Place in microwave and cook on high for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and stir. Cook for 1 minute more, or until thickened. Season with salt (if using).
