This Big Mac Casserole is a low carb keto recipe with all the flavor of the popular Big Mac Sandwich and none of the carbs. This hamburger casserole is topped with melty cheese, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and served with a sweet and tangy sauce.

❤️ Why you'll love it
Healthier recipe: it is gluten free and is keto friendly with 7 net carbs per serving. And, it has all the flavors of a fast food big mac sandwich without the bun!
Budget friendly: saving money is easier when you can make your take out at home for a fraction of the cost!
Casserole recipe: while it is not a one dish meal (you cook the beef in a skillet first) the recipe is finished in the oven in a casserole dish.

Ground Beef: I always use high quality lean ground beef for the best flavor.
Heavy Cream: Any brand will work here.
Eggs: Unless specified, I always use large eggs in my recipes.
Sesame Seeds: for sprinkling on top of the casserole.
Smoked Paprika: used in the Big Mac Sauce and gives it a distinct flavor that is so delicious!
Sugar-Free Ketchup: Be sure the ketchup you purchase is sugar-free. Most ketchups will have added sugar. I use this sugar-free ketchup.
Pickle Relish: I make my own homemade garlic dill pickles and use this handy little food chopper to make a dill pickle relish.
Coconut Aminos: I used this in place of Worcestershire sauce which has sugar in it. Be sure the coconut aminos you buy is a keto-approved one.

🔪 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, using a meat masher to break the meat up, until it begins to brown.
- Stir in the onion, garlic powder, and salt and cook for 7 minutes, or until beef has browned and onion has softened.
- Add coconut aminos and softened cream cheese until incorporated. Turn off the heat and set aside.
- Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with cooking spray. Spread the beef mixture in the bottom of the casserole dish.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream. Pour the egg mixture over the meat mixture evenly.
- Sprinkle the casserole with shredded cheese and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if using).
- Return the casserole to the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and casserole is cooked through.
- While the casserole is baking, make the Big Mac Sauce. Mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, garlic powder, and smoked paprika together until combined. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Rubber scraper: to scrape the bowl clean.
🥫Storage
Refrigerate: store leftover casserole in an airtight container in the fridge up to 5 days.
Reheat: reheat on a microwave safe plate in the microwave until warmed through.

- Use this Sugar free Thousand Island Dressing instead of the Big Mac sauce.

- Saute a jalapeno pepper with the onions in step 1.
- Top the casserole with tomato slices before baking.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.

🏫 The last word
This Big Mac Casserole recipe reminded me of the cheeseburger pie my Mom would make with biscuit mix. It is very close to the same recipe, except there is no biscuit mix used making it a low carb and keto friendly recipe.
