    Bang Bang Sauce is a sweet and spicy sauce homemade version of the bang bang sauce so popular on restaurant menus. This copycat recipe is made with simple ingredients and is the perfect sauce with a spicy kick to dip your french fries, chicken wings, nuggets, or fried shrimp into!

    Mayonnaise: this is a mayo-based sauce recipe, you can use full fat or reduced fat mayo.

    Thai sweet chili sauce: this is a sweet thickened sauce made with chilies and sugar. Do not confuse it with chili garlic sauce which is not sweet.

    Honey: a little honey is added to enhance flavor and add sweetness.

    Sriracha sauce: adds more heat and flavor to the sauce.

    Rice vinegar: this adds a tang, lemon juice can be used instead.

    🔪 Instructions

    1. In a small mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, and rice vinegar. Stir until no mayonnaise lumps remain.
    2. Store in airtight container in the fridge up to 4 days.

    • Lighten the recipe up and replace the mayonnaise with low fat greek yogurt or low fat sour cream
    • For a touch of savory, stir in ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
    • Sub maple syrup for the honey.
    • For extra spice, add more sriracha sauce or some cayenne pepper

    Are bang bang sauce, boom boom sauce, and yum yum sauce the same thing?

    No, they are not the same but they all have similarities with the one major difference being yum yum sauce does not have any chilis. Boom boom and bang bang sauce are more similar. There are a lot of different versions of each recipe.
